Just Clicked on the blog link in my Folksy shop and realised I haven't blogged in quite a while (OK, 3 years to be honest!) Not sure why, but I've decided to try and be better at it (but please don't hold me to that)
I'll probably be doing more craft related blogs as family life at the moment is a bit 'everyday' but to bring you up to date; our Dear Daughter graduated from Exeter University 15 months ago and is now working in Bristol and proud 'Mummy' to 2 bunnies, Dear Son is now in his final year of High School so we are once again going to be thrown into the turmoil of GCSEs, choosing college etc. Hubby and I celebrated our silver wedding anniversary this summer and I find myself wondering where those years have gone! I've also gained a 'proper' job as School Crossing Patrol Officer (Lollipop Lady) a job which I love (except when it's cold and wet) as I still have plenty of time to craft :-)
I'll leave it there for now as I'm sure I'm probably talking to myself (nothing new there then) but hope to share some of my crafting world soon

Busy with Christmas!
Well I've not been a very good blogger this year with only a handful of posts but hopefully I'll be doing better from now on (yes I know you've heard that before!) Well as it's autumn that means Christmas is just around the corner and card making is taking on a more frantic mood in my crafting corner as I have so many ideas and not enough time (I think I'll ask for a few extra hours in the day for Christmas!)
As usual there are lots of lovely festive items available on Folksy,(http://folksy.com/) here are a few of my humble offerings

Fathers' Day
For me & my family it will be a mixed day as I lost my own Dad in February but still want my Father-in-Law and Husband to have a happy day, also for the first time my Daughter won't be there to take breakfast in bed to her Dad as she's in Cornwall at University.
The theme for this weeks Papercraft thread on Folksy forums is surprise surprise, Men, who (as we all know) can be difficult to buy cards and gifts for so hopefully this selection will give anyone who's not bought anything yet a few ideas.
First one from my DeesDesigns shop as we all know Dads are superheroes no matter how old you are. |
This one from Phoenix Projects is bold and colourful |
If it's a present you're after how about this beautiful artwork by Iain S Byrne Wildlife Art |
This card by Crafty Mushroom is sure to make Dad smile |
These lovely journals from Tara Winona art are ideal for Dad to write down his wish list |
How about a card for the little ones to colour in for their Daddy this clever idea is from Clarkie Designs. |
How about a card that can double as a Beer mat from Little Red Press, what more could a Dad ask for! |
Diane's Decoupage has made this card for the Golfing Dads out there | . |

Whiter Than White?
White is ............
Daisies, Wedding Dresses, cake icing, snow and fluffy clouds.
Most cardmakers see white as a challenge, there are so many shades of white it's difficult to match pieces of card or paper , if a card has too much white you're wondering if it looks 'finished' or just half done, does the amount of white enhance or detract from your main focal point, all in all white can be a bit of a nightmare. But it can also be a delight and really make a card stand out from the rest , on Folksy forums we have a weekly thread for papercrafters to show off their creations, each week it has a theme and this week Carol of Cariadcrafts picked white, I thought I would struggle to find a card in my shop and wasn't sure how many others would add to the thread but are our whiter than white crafts.

Robins
We have a few robins in our garden who visit the bird feeder, one has even been known to sit on the windowsill & look in on us if there's nothing much on there as if to say 'It's breakfast time where's the food?'
Lots of sellers on Folksy have been listing for Christmas so there seems to be a lot of Robins on there too so as the weather is turning very wintry (the weather man mentioned snow this morning!) here's a few of Folksy's Festive Robins.
Firstly one of mine
These from Zulelkha's Art are beautifully detailed
This one from Audrey's Cat is made from vintage fabric
This lovely glass suncatcher has been painted by ARP Glass Designs
If you want to see any of these lovely creations in your home then click on the text next to the photos to be taken to the details :-)
Finally don't forget to feed the robins & our other feathered friends through the winter.

While Hubby's away.......
I've been playing :-)
Normally I try to leave all things crafty at my desk, otherwise the whole house would be awash with paper, glitter etc. & it's bad enough with my 11yo son's Warhammer 40k stuff taking over the dining room. However hubby is away for a couple of nights (which gives me chance to tidy up after myself) so I brought down some of my Christmas decoupage sheets to cut & stack whilst 'watching' the telly, it's amazing how much I got done in only an hour or so;

Apologies for the bad quality of the photo but it is a bit late & the only place I could lay them all out was on the living room floor.
Now I need to get my act together and make them up into cards before the 'Christmas rush' has passed :-)
Here's some I prepared earlier
