Chocolate Shoe?!

I know I said they were too lovely to eat but earlier this week a severe hormonal chocolate craving coupled with the realisation that it was less than 2 weeks to Christmas (and I am so NOT organised!) meant something had to give it was the shoes or my sanity & the shoes lost :-(
Yes there`s only one left now, but the other did taste as good as it looked :-)
I`m a bit calmer & a little more organised now, but know I`ll still be checking lists on Christmas eve. I blame all the adverts on the telly showing a calm & glowing family sat around the dinner table  with a perfect mum bringing in the turkey or pudding with perfect make-up & beautifully dressed, don`t know about your house but at mine it`ll be the kids half asleep having woken up too early, hubby struggling to put together some lego set or game with very vague instructions & me red in the face from a hot kitchen.
However you spend it I hope you have a Happy Christmas

Santa Claus Is Coming!!

As it is only 4 weeks til Christmas I thought I`d do a Folksy Friday on the Man in the Red Suit! He goes by several names, Santa Claus, Father Christmas, St. Nick but whatever you call him he`s going to be very busy very soon so here are a few items to celebrate his generosity to all the children of the world.

And finally where would he be without his pixies

Chocolate shoes!!!

Last week it was my birthday (21 & a big bit!!) now because it`s so close to Christmas my family normally give me money to spend either now or in the January sales. My hubby usually arranges a pressie from him/the kids & this year was no exception, my treat from him was Sunday breakfast at Betty`s in York (10yo son was away for the weekend & 17yo daughter not out of bed so it was just us two!) from the kids he arranged for a lady at work who is a brilliant cake decorator to make me a pair of lovely pink high- heeled shoes completely from chocolate! Some of my fellow Folksy sellers said they would love to see some pictures so today I was brave & took them out of the cellophane to photograph. The smell was delicious but I`ve been very good & put them back without even a nibble, they look too good to eat :-)

Every bit of the shoe is chocolate even the flower & pearl trim she must have such patience.

Christmas Glitter

Now that all the family birthdays are out of the way (except mine but they can sort out the cards for that one!) I`ve got more time to concentrate on christmas cards, this means I seem to be permanently glitter coated so I thought I`d base this weeks Folksy Friday on glitter. I put the word glitter in the search box & 190 pages came up (we must be a glitzy lot!) so I narrowed it down to christmas glitter & here are a few of my favourites :-)

And here are a couple of my glittery christmas cards :-)

If you want a better look at any of these items just click on the links to the side, hope you have a sparkly christmas :-)

Ok I know I`m probably a bit late to do a blog on halloween but just wanted to share some pictures of my son dressed as a zombie, as usual I left it a bit late to shop for face paint so had to resort to talc &  my 17yo daughters make up (she has more goth colours than me) but she took great delight in "making up" her little brother.

Some friends from the top of our street took their kids & a few extras around our village & I`m not sure who enjoyed it more adults or kids :-) they came back with enough treats to last until christmas (hopefully), normally we get a few come round but this year we had so many we ran out of sweets & had to give choccie biscuits to the last few! My son took great delight in trying to get the scariest face on the pumpkin that he could so here are a couple of piccies of his creation.

Hope you had fun on Halloween & no tricks were played

Half term chaos

So much for a relaxing half term, today was the 1st day where we didn`t have to get up for something!!
Saturday my daughter needed taking to work for 9.30am then  trip into York for a blouse suitable for a job interview & pick up my terminally unmendable Kenwood chef (works but very loud).
Sunday is 10yo sons swimming morning with hubby (8.30 start while it`s quiet at the pool) afternoon spent getting garden ready for winter.
Monday (this was the busiest) Daughter going to London with choir to see Les Miserables (coach leaving 9.00am) 10.30 dropped son off at my mums so I could go for job interview (in the new blouse bought on saturday) find out on friday whether I`ve been successful, oh & it was hubbys birthday too so various relatives calling with cards etc.
Yesterday dentist at 9.00 :-( then in the afternoon a trip to Ikea to spend a lot of money (in my head) and daughter arrived home (with an awful lot of washing no doubt).
So today I was looking forward to no alarm clock & what happens? I`m wide awake at 6.30am!! nothing on the calender tomorrow so hopefully a lie-in :-) cos on friday there`s the car needing to go for a service & new tumble dryer arriving (any time between 7.00am & 12!) How long til Christmas hols!?
Hope you`re having a nice half-term break :-)

Crafting Corner

On folksy forums at the moment is a thread where people are posting photos of their crafting space, well here is mine in all it`s messy glory (actually this is fairly tidy, I can actually find my desk!) it`s a corner in our bedroom that is so small/ awkward that it was just used to stack boxes in until I started cardmaking (come to think of it I still stack boxes in it just full of paper instead of old clothes!) Hope you`re not too shocked :-)
